The 2023 Volkswagen Atlas is now available to our customers in and near Walpole Boston Braintree Wellesley at Nucar Volkswagen of Norwood. The Atlas is a midsize crossover SUV that is loaded with tech and amenities and available with either a fuel-efficient turbo four or a more powerful V6.
An upgraded digital instrument panel is now standard beyond the base trim. Volkswagen has also retired the SEL R-Line trim level.
Front-wheel drive is standard for the new Volkswagen Atlas near Boston. All-wheel drive is optional with the SE and SE with Technology and standard with the SEL trims. A shiftable eight-speed automatic transmission is standard across the board. The base engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The optional engine is a 3.6-liter V6 that makes 276 hp and 266 lb.-ft. The V6 is standard with the SEL R-Line Black and SEL Premium R-Line. Trailering equipment is included with all AWD models that have the V6 engine, and with that upgrade, the Atlas can tow 5,000 pounds.
The base suite of infotainment and driver-assistance technologies for the new Volkswagen Atlas near Boston includes a 6.5-inch touch screen, a rearview camera, forward collision mitigation, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic warning. The SE with Technology adds an 8-inch touch screen, voice control, adaptive cruise control and front and rear parking sensors. The SEL adds navigation, traffic sign recognition, adaptive headlamps, lane keeping and blind-spot intervention. The top trim adds an automated parking system and upgrades the camera system with a surround-view camera.
Push-button ignition and proximity keyless entry are included standard at Nucar Volkswagen of Norwood. Remote engine start and a 115-volt household-style power outlet are standard with the SE with Technology trim and up. Alloy wheels are standard, and wheel sizes range from 18 to 21 inches. Starting with the SEL, all models have a drive mode selector.
The SE is among the best values when it comes to base trims in the class. The SE with Technology adds many popular amenities and technologies without a big jump in price, and that makes it the most popular trim. The SEL models add even more tech and creature comforts, and the R-Line models have a sportier aesthetic and come with the more powerful engine as well.
Starting with the base trim, there are five standard exterior color options for the 2023 Volkswagen Atlas. Those are Deep Black Pearl, Platinum Gray Metallic, Pure White, Pyrite Silver Metallic and Tourmaline Blue Metallic. Beyond the base trim, Aurora Red Metallic is also available as a premium option.
