What is MOR-EV?

MOR-EV (Massachusetts Offers Rebates for Electric Vehicles) provides cash rebates on eligible new and used electric vehicles for MA residents, businesses, and nonprofits. It’s funded by the MA Department of Energy Resources and administered statewide by the Center for Sustainable Energy.²

Documents you’ll need

Bring these to make POS smooth (and to speed up post-purchase applications):

  • Massachusetts driver’s license or accepted residency proof
  • Purchase/lease agreement (we’ll provide)
  • Pre-qualification voucher (only if taking Used or MOR-EV+)
  • Any additional items MOR-EV requests; see their Sample Supporting Documents guide.

Disclosure: Requirements vary by track; MOR-EV may accept alternatives on a case-by-case basis.⁸

How much can you get?

  • Standard (new BEVs/FCEVs): $3,500 — Total MSRP ≤ $55,000, take it here at Nucar Volkswagen of Norwood or apply within 90 days after purchase/lease. Leases ≥36 months qualify; keep the vehicle registered in MA for 36 months.³
  • Used EV: $3,500 — income-qualified, final purchase price ≤ $40,000, and purchased from Nucar Volkswagen of Norwood; available with a pre-qualification voucher or apply within 90 days.⁴ ⁵
  • MOR-EV+ income adder: +$1,500 — stackable with Standard or Used; a voucher allows POS on qualifying transactions.⁵
  • Trade-In adder: +$1,000 — stackable; apply post-purchase when you trade an eligible gas (ICE) vehicle at time of sale/lease.³
