Sleek and Sophisticated Design

The 2023 Jetta has a sleek design based on the platform of Volkswagen’s Modularer Querbaukasten (MQB), or modular transversal toolkit. It features a wraparound front end with LED lighting, wide chrome bars at the grille’s top and bottom, and two slimmer chrome strips flanking the Volkswagen logo. The Sport trim features blacked-out grilles. The Jetta’s interior is refined, with a large and comfortable cabin. It boasts generous passenger space, 14.1 cubic feet of trunk space, and standard 60/40 split-folding rear seats. It is available in seven exterior colors, including Kings Red Metallic, Opal White Metallic, and Rising Blue Metallic.

Power and Performance

One thing that sets the 2023 Volkswagen Jetta above its competitors is its powerful engine and impressive acceleration. The standard engine is a 1.5L EA211 turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 184 lb-ft of torque and 158 horsepower. It can be paired with either a six-speed manual transmission for control and freedom or an eight-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic shifting. You’ll get some real speed with this car either way.

Competitive Fuel Economy

The Jetta has a very efficient fuel economy of up to 42 mpg. Jetta models with the standard six-speed manual transmission have an EPA-estimated rating of 29 mpg city, 42 mpg highway, and 34 mpg combined. The Jetta’s engine features a modified version of the Miller cycle, which uses less fuel by keeping intake valves closed early in the induction stroke. It also has a high compression ratio of up to 11.5 to 1.

The automatic transmission on all Jetta models comes standard with a start/stop system. This system helps fuel efficiency by shutting off the engine during idle when the brake pedal is held (such as when waiting at a stop light) and then restarting the engine when the brake is released.

Jetta’s Got Your Safety in Mind

A combination of passive and active safety features is included on all trims, such as a disc brake drying feature to optimize wet-weather braking, electronic brake-pressure distribution, and hydraulic brake assist. These features are perfect for New England winters, ensuring reliable braking when driving in snow and ice.

You can also be sure you’re riding safely in your 2023 Volkswagen Jetta with six airbags (front and side airbags for front passengers and side curtain airbags for outboard seating positions), an anti-lock braking system, and electronic stability control.

Volkswagen’s Automatic Post-Collision Braking System and Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS) help minimize damage in the event of a collision. The Automatic Post-Collision Braking System applies the brakes when the airbag sensors detect a primary collision, thus potentially reducing residual kinetic energy and, in turn, the chance of additional damage. The ICRS shuts off the fuel pump, unlocks the doors, and switches on the hazard lights if your car is involved in certain types of collisions.
